WILTSHIRE County Council could get £1m it was not expecting to spend next year - but it has refused to give the county's Heritage Museum an extra £12,500.
The cabinet was presented with proposals for the 2007/8 revenue budget on Tuesday, when Allen Gales, interim head of finance, told councillors an estimated £1 million in additional resources would be available through tax base figures and collection funds from the district councils, increasing the revised Financial Plan to £231.3 million.
Councillors were asked to approve an extra £12,500 grant to the Wiltshire Heritage Museum in Devizes but refused and kept their total grant at £12,500.
The cabinet will be given the final budget figures in February. It will then decide the council tax increase and budget allocation for the full council to vote on.
