I HAVE no wish to cross swords with either Basil Green or Jeff Osborn, two gentlemen for whom I have the highest regard, but I must take issue with them over their letter in the Wiltshire Times.
They said that readers will be confused by two appeals in Trowbridge - there has only ever been one as far as we are concerned.
For Basil to say that he has sent 106 people to Cheltenham in 18 months for a scan is plausible enough but the RUH do 1,000 scans a month, not just for Trowbridge but for half a million in the catchment area.
But I have good news for all of us. I am told the RUH's second scanner should be up and running by June next. So no more concerts - make sure you come to the one on May 19 in the United Church - and no more sending people to Cheltenham after June.
In fact I have heard that a lot of Cheltenham people are being sent down to Bath now that we shall have two scanners!
