TRAIN lines were closed between Westbury and Salisbury this morning after a train hit and killed a man on the tracks near the village Upton Lovell.
The 8.35am First Great Western service from Southampton to Cardiff Central hit the person at about 9.20am this morning.
Emergency services are currently at the scene and British Transport Police are investigating the incident.
Network Rail is working with the BTP to find out the cause of the accident and have closed the train line between Westbury and Salisbury until further notice.
A spokesman for First Great Western said there were major disruptions on the line and advised passengers to make alternative travel arrangements.
The railway line reopened at 11.45am with services back to normal but some local delays were still being experienced.
