FOUR women have been taken to hospital after a serious accident on the B3414 Bath Road, Warminster, at the A36 Heytesbury roundabout at 5.45pm on Tuesday.
The road was closed in both directions for some time as Wiltshire Police carried out investigative work.
It is understood that three women aged 81, 96 and 92 travelling in a Fiat Punto have been taken to Salisbury District Hospital as has the woman driver of a VW Golf.
The male driver of a Mercedes is not believed to have been seriously hurt.
Alan Geere, head of news journalism at Southampton Solent University, who was driving on the B3414 was turned back, being told by police: "We are dealing with multiple casualties."
