Wiltshire Police are appealing for help in locating a man wanted in connection with threatening an officer with a blade in Salisbury.
The incident took place just after 3.20pm yesterday in St Michaels Road, Salisbury, as an officer attempted to arrest a man who was wanted by a number of police forces for offences including arson and aggravated vehicle taking.
A spokesman said: "The man produced a bladed article during the attempted arrest before leaving the scene.
"Armed officers attempted to find the man throughout the evening but no arrests have been made so far."
The police officer was uninjured during the incident.
Officers now want to trace Luke Elliott Smith, 29, urgently in connection with this incident.
He is described as white, about 8ins tall, with light brown hair and green eyes.
Wiltshire Police are warning the public not to approach or make contact with Smith if they see him and instead to call 999 immediately.
