We see that once again, following a fatal road traffic collision, some individuals come up with the “clever” idea that we should reduce the speed limits and that this would stop these incidents.
Who on earth would think that if the individuals choose to blatantly ignore existing traffic laws and limits, that they would comply with slower/lower limits?
The only thing that will change driving behaviour is education. Perhaps if every newly qualified driver/rider was mandatorily required to view video footage of the aftermath of these hideous events (as do all the ambulance, police and fire emergency attenders at these incidents), it is just possible that some consideration may be absorbed by some young people, and some lives may not be lost.
It is about time that everybody accepted and understood that every action has a consequence.
