MELKSHAM care home Blenheim House opened up its doors to the community to host an Easter fair complete with a chick hunt and free eggs for the youngsters.

They also had some special visitors on Saturday in the back garden of alpacas, pygmy goats and guinea pigs and inside they had a range of activities happening including a raffle and various stalls.

Entertainment coordinator Selena Tuck said: “It went really well we had a lot more people than expected and raised £627 for the resident’s fund which will go towards taking them on trips and for the sensory room.

“We had a big cake sale, face painting, we had guess the name of the teddy bear and bric-a-brac and a fantastic lady making balloons.”

Ms Tuck added: “It was a really great day and it shows people we are not just a care home but we are here for the whole community too.”
