TROWBRIDGE pub The Longs Arms is closing for just over two weeks as it undergoes a makeover to help bring a bit of sparkle back to the family-friendly local.
The Hungry Horse pub on Yarnbrook will close today (June 29) and is due to reopen again on July 15, after new carpets, wallpaper and fresh paintwork are applied throughout to give the whole pub a fresh new look.
Meanwhile, outside the pub significant work is being done in the garden, where new seating is being added so that adults can enjoy a drink in the summer sun, while new play equipment is being installed for the children.
Talking about the work pub manager Julie Johnston said: “The pub has been in need of a bit of a refresh and this makeover will be just the job.
“There are a lot of improvements being made but we are hoping to keep the disruption to a minimum and are looking to reopen in the middle of July, when we invite everyone to come along and see the changes.”
