Canal Road traffic congestion at the entrance to the recycling centre could be alleviated by prohibiting right turns onto the site.
This would require such traffic to continue on to the Wicks roundabout and approach from that direction, thus confining the entrance queue to one carriageway and completely freeing up the Airsprung side. It would also assist through traffic to proceed towards town by permitting vehicles to overtake a stationary queue.
This would also stop drivers competing for entry when approaching from opposite directions and promote fairness by ensuring entry in the order of arrival.
