A WOMAN from Chippenham has set up a collection point for people to donate items to support people affected by floods in the north of the country.
Michelle Betty Mcbarrons, 41 of Chippenham, put up a post on Facebook on Sunday (December 27) talking about donating unwanted items to help people that had lost their homes in Bolton. In the 24 hours that the post was online she received a large number of replies and even donations to help along to the cause.
Miss Mcbarrons said: “I used to live in Bolton and I thought why not do this? Anything that is left over will go on to other places like York, we are taking donations of clothes, shoes, toys, books and even things like electronics and fridges.”
To transport the donations to Bolton, David Rousell of DLR Removals has donated a van to assist in the campaign.
The collection point will be open from 9am-4pm on Wednesday (December 30) at the Community Hall in Kingsley Road, just off of Ladyfield Road, Chippenham.
