WILTSHIRE Music Centre’s Young Curators will present a night with some of the best new musicians in the West Country on April 9, and are offering free music industry masterclasses for youngsters to take part in.

The event includes performances from three artists supported by BBC Introducing in the West, Lauren Aquilina, Ardyn and Emlyn Bainbridge.

Composed by Sam Bonham and Richard Pitt, the performance will be broadcast live from Wiltshire Music Centre by BBC Introducing in the West, on BBC Radio Bristol, Radio Gloucestershire, BBC Somerset and BBC Wiltshire, between 8-10pm.

Free sessions for young musicians, offering networking opportunities for youngsters looking to forge a path of their own in the industry, will be held between 4.30-7pm.

The night will feature three acts, all of which have been supported by BBC Introducing in the West.

Lauren Aquilina got her first radio play in January 2012 and has subsequently racked up eight million streams online and supported Taylor Swift at Hyde Park.

She will be supported by alternative-pop sibling duo Ardyn, and Bristol-based electronic alt-folk artist Emlyn Bainbridge.

Sam Bonham, from BBC Introducing in the West, said: “We love being able to offer young musicians a chance to learn from music professionals. It’s one of my favourite parts of the job. Also, I can’t wait to find out from Lauren, what is Taylor Swift really like?”
