DEMOLITION work began on Wednesday to bulldoze a music studio in Holt that was built without planning permission.

Nick Allen, of Forewood Common, was ordered to remove the disabled-friendly structure, which cost more than £200,000, by September 2015 after losing a High Court battle for planning permission.

The 68-year-old wheelchair user, who now has a criminal record, was fined £7500 after being prosecuted by the Wiltshire Council for not complying with an enforcement notice to dispose of the building.

Despite appealing the decision and accumulating nearly 4,000 signatures in a petition, the music studio will be demolished.
