A COUPLE of weeks ago the head of the libraries stated that the library use was safe – what a complete joke! All I can guess is that this person has never tried to use the internet service in the library as it is completely useless. As I write this (April 11) the system is not working properly and the service desk can`t be bothered to answer their phone – the librarians have been left with no one to phone for help as the engineers obviously can`t be bothered.
The system was out of order a couple of weeks ago due to so-called ‘essential maintenance’ – in other words the engineers were messing the service up. Since then there have been no end of problems that weren’t there before the ‘essential maintenance’ and the problems show no end in sight.
The public pay for this appalling service in our council tax – it`s a shame the council couldn’t be bothered to give us a service that actually works.
The librarians are a wonder to behold and do a brilliant job – they certainly don`t deserve to be expected to pick up the pieces that the engineers leave behind.
