WE HAVE all got our new Council Tax bill, we have paid an extra two per cent for the care of the elderly in our county authorised by government.
My green bin payment has gone up £2 from £40 to £42, this is not a two per cent rise it is five per cent of £40.
If you want two per cent of £40 you will find it is 80 pence, and our council runs the schools – do the accounts staff need to go back to school to learn mathematics?
But is the £2 going towards the elderly care as well? I think not, it’s just an EXTRA tax the council have applied to get more money from us taxpayers.
