FOUR people have been injured following a serious crash between two vehicles on the A303 at Charnage this afternoon. 

Three ambulances, two rapid response vehicles, an operations manager and an air ambulance arrived at the scene at 2.55pm to treat four people who had been injured during the crash. 

Fire crews from Mere and Wincanton were also called to the scene by paramedics at 3.07pm to help extricate a woman using hydraulic equipment.

Road closures have been put in place in both directions at Willoughby Hedge and Zeals.

Although the four casualties were taken to Salisbury District Hospital, the road is likely to be closed for several hours.
