POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of a large oak bench from Holt.
The bench was stolen between midday on September 25 and 3pm on September 26.
It was taken from Dawes Pond, on the edge of the recreation ground, off a road called The Midlands.
The bench was made by a local craftsman from a fallen oak tree.
PCSO Andrew MacLachlan said: "This bench was handmade from a fallen tree in the village and is irreplaceable for the local community.
"It is approximately 2.5 metres long and is extremely heavy so a vehicle, or a number of people would have been needed to move it.
"Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the bench should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
