THE man who died after being hit by a car on the A36 on Sunday night has been named by police.
Michael Benjamin Curley, 71, from Regal Court in Warminster, was crossing the road between Crockerton and Heytesbury at 11.40pm when the collision occurred and he died at the scene.
Mr Curley deteriorated rapidly after being diagnosed with Alzheimers.
The driver of the vehicle, a Mercedes Coupe, sustained injuries to his hand and face which were not serious.
The investigation is currently ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact PC Neil Hannis or PS Scott Hill at the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
