THE owners of a cherished Jack Russell are still confident she will return home, three months after going missing.

On October 25, Tizzy mysteriously vanished from her house in Ashmead, Trowbridge, after going into the front garden and never returned.

A big campaign was launched by her owners and a Facebook group called ‘Help Find Tizzy’ has been joined by nearly 700 people.

Jade Baker, 25, of Weavers Drive, said: “She’s been missing since October 25 but we’re still hopeful that she’s out there and safe.

“We think she might have been taken in by an elderly couple who don’t use social media and therefore haven’t been able to alert people.

“There’s been a few possible sightings but only one definite sighting, which happened four days after she went missing.

“We’ve covered lots of big towns including Trowbridge, Westbury and Warminster but there’s also a lot of country lanes and small hamlets we haven’t been able to reach with flyers, so perhaps she’s somewhere like that.”

Professional ‘traps’ were set up in the area in a bid to find Tizzy but have proved unsuccessful.

Mrs Baker said that the dog’s absence has caused immense stress in the family and has caused some family members to become ill.

“It has been really painful without her. She really was an important part of the family and everyone still misses her,” added the mum-of-three.

“If we knew one way or the other it would be okay but it’s the fact we don’t know what’s happened – that’s the hardest part.

“We will not give up hope until she’s found.”
