A TROWBRIDGE care business is celebrating after being rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) at its first inspection.
Louisa Homecare Ltd, set up by Louisa McNeil in September 2015, provides care at home to around 40 people in Wiltshire and impressed the CQC’s inspectors when they visited before Christmas.
“The hard work has paid off, we found out just before Christmas and it was the perfect present,” said Mrs McNeil, 45, who has been in the care industry for 15 years.
The mum-of-two, who lives in Bowerhill, Melksham, added: “It was our first-ever inspection and everyone worked so hard to ensure we got the rating we deserved.
“We will be aiming for Outstanding next time and I’m confident we can achieve it. The reason for the rating is because all of the staff are brilliant and we all work together as a team.
“Our users know that they will get the same member of staff each time which means they can build up a good relationship with them.
“There are only 19 members of staff which also means I know everyone personally, which isn’t the case with every care company. We also ensure we adhere to all policies and procedures to keep in line.”
The company, which is based on the White Horse Business Park in North Bradley, offers support to the elderly and to those coping with severe illness, and includes shopping, housework, social outings and personal care.
The CQC praised the company for meeting clients’ health and social care needs, and said staff worked to make sure clients were eating and drinking properly and were satisfied that if they had concerns about a client these would be acted on.
The company can be contacted on 01225 809957.
