BOTH local councillors and members of the public are advised to report highway defects on the Wiltshire Council app. Many residents do, then they ask just what is the point, after reporting the defect they are given a target date for the repair.
The defect after being reported often goes un-repaired despite the resident being given a target date for the repair.
I recently reported a street light out, and a large pot hole that had already done hundreds of pounds of damage to a car, and yes the target date has passed and we are still waiting for the repairs to be carried out.
So yes I can understand why members of the public say what’s the point in using the app, as so often the defects are never repaired and no one ever gets back to them to say why.
