UPDATE: phosphorous grenades issued to the Home Guard in WW2 to throw at invading tanks have been found
RESIDENTS are being urged to stay inside as the bomb disposal unit prepares to detonate the explosive devices in Trowbridge.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team planned to carry out the controlled explosion at around 8.30pm but it has been delayed as far more devices have been found than first thought.
Glass bottles containing explosive liquid, believed to be wartime flares, were discovered on a building site opposite John of Gaunt School earlier today.
The devices have been placed in heavy clay soil and will be destroyed in a skip, which is likely to cause a large amount of smoke.
Wingfield Road is expected to be back to normal before rush hour.
