POLICE officers from Swindon set up a marquee outside Sainsbury’s in Trowbridge today where they answered general questions from members of the public.
PCSO Juliet Evans and PCSO Michaela Lareine offered safety advice to people as they entered the supermarket and had informal conversations about the work of the police.
The informative stand was part of a police response to the murder which happened in the town in the early hours of Sunday morning, as Wiltshire Police heightens its presence on the streets in the wake of the incident.
PCSO Evans said: “We often find that people are more comfortable talking to police officers face to face rather than over the phone, so this is another way of engaging with the community.
“People have been really friendly and there’s been a really nice response, with lots of people saying that they’re happy to see us here.”
