DES Harris’s family would like to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ for the support of everyone at the celebration of his life at the Old Bear, Staverton, as well as to those who sent cards and letters. He died aged 92 last month.
One hundred family and friends gathered to enjoy a cream tea, which included Des’s favourite fruit cake, while memories were shared and photographs of Des’s long life were screened from the 1920s onwards.
His son, Jon, read a tribute to his father in which he highlighted Des’s love of gardening and his devotion to his wife Pam.
The collection raised £400 to be shared between Parkinson’s UK and Bernardo’s.
