A Wiltshire and local parish councillor has completed a daredevil skydive to raise funds for local charity Dorothy House Hospice Care.
Horace Prickett, 76, who represents Southwick on Wiltshire Council and who is also a parish councillor at both West Ashton and North Bradley, jumped from a plane at 12,500 feet last week.
The former Westbury mayor took part in a mass jump with eight other people at the Army Parachute Association airfield in Netheravon near Devizes to help raise funds for Winsley-based Dorothy House.
Horace said: “It was an absolutely fantastic and amazing experience. There was cloud cover at about 10,000ft and once we had passed through that, there was a beautiful rainbow to see.”
Mr Prickett is aiming to raise £2,000 for Dorothy House and is already two-thirds of the way there. He has supported the hospice since his wife was cared for by Dorothy House 20 years ago before she died.
