DEDICATED to the fallen of all nations:
I see them in their shades of red,
white tablets mark their lonely head.
I see them in their shades of red,
your country needs you it was said.
I see them in their shades of red,
they did their duty, now they are dead.
We carve their names, we sing in praise,
and vow to remember through a solemn haze.
I see them now in shades of red,
and reflect upon the things being said,
no mother’s son returning home,
no husbands or fathers ever come.
I see them now in shades of red,
and wonder will we ever shed,
the cost of war that we all dread.
Let’s hope for peace on earth and pray,
we never ever have to say,
I saw them in their shades of red
