Trowbridge Link needs volunteer drivers
TROWBRIDGE Link is a Good Neighbour scheme that helps people in the local community. We urgently need more volunteer drivers to take elderly, infirm or otherwise disadvantaged people to medical appointments, to transport them to clubs and social groups, to visit friends and family members in hospital or nursing homes, or to do shopping for those who are housebound.
If any readers have a few spare hours each week, have access to a vehicle, and have a kind and sympathetic approach to those members of our community who need a little extra help, we would be delighted to hear from them.
Volunteer driving is very flexible and not onerous as drivers can choose the days or times when they would be available to help which allows them to fit it around any other commitments they may have. A mileage allowance is paid to the driver to help cover the cost of the fuel that they use when on Link duties.
Our website www.trowbridgelink.org.uk has more information about the work that we do, and also a printable volunteer application form. This is on the volunteering page.
Alternatively, telephone 07969 347042 and leave your name and phone number and one of our co-ordinators will contact you.
Thank you.
