A 37-YEAR-OLD man is fighting for his life after a serious car crash took place on Monday morning along the A350 near Yarnbrook.
At 8.35am, a Ford KA collided with a heavy goods vehicle outside the entrance to Blenches Mill Farm.
Police say that it appears the Ford lost control and spun into the carriageway, across the path of the heavy goods vehicle. The car was almost completely destroyed.
Firefighters from Trowbridge and Warminster managed to free the man using cutting equipment.
He was then airlifted to Southmead Hospital for treatment.
The road has been closed all day while investigation work is carried out and the scene is cleared. Police hope to reopen it as soon as possible.
Triforce Roads Policing Unit are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 and leave full contact details.
