VOLUNTEERS from Warminster Rugby Club have been recognised by the England Rugby Football Union for their dedication to the club.
Three members of the rugby club were nominated for the volunteer of the year programme awards at Mitsubishi Swindon, and received prizes for their hard work at the ceremony last Wednesday.
The top award for volunteer of the year across Wiltshire was presented to Claire MacCarron from Warminster Rugby Football Club Pink Panthers girls’ team who has been coaching at the club for three years.
She said: “It was such a shock to be read out as the top award winner, it was incredible.
“There were so many amazing volunteers there who have raised so much money so I really didn’t expect my name to be read out.
“I cannot thank the girls enough.
“They come week in and week out to train and use the RFU Core Values in everyday life.”
