UNDEFEATED cricketers from Marlborough under 11s showed off their batting and fielding skills in front of England captain Eoin Morgan at the Ageas Bowl.

15 boys and girls from the team, which has won every match in the Wiltshire North division this year, travelled to Southampton to take part in the skills challenge.

Made up form six schools in and around Marlborough, the group usually play two matches a week and so far have taken 61 wickets and conceded over 400 runs.

Magnus Painter, lead U11 coach said: “We have over a hundred juniors playing at Marlborough now, it’s brilliant to see so many enjoying their cricket.

"I’m really proud of the U11s, they are a great group, who have really developed as a team, which shows in their results this season.”

Children headed onto the green at the Hampshire Cricket Club home ground last Friday (July 20) to try out hitting pull-shot sixes, targeted bowling, and run-out fielding drills.

The club practise at Savernake Forest Ground, London Road.
