YOUNG pirates were going this way, that way, forwards and backwards on the pretend seas at St James’ Church in Trowbridge as part of a summer holiday camp.
From 10am-12.30pm, more than 50 local primary school children enjoyed everything to do with pirates, from singing, dancing, acting, craft making and playing games from last Tuesday to last Friday.
Rector Rev Rob Thomas said the children, aged four to 11, loved the pirate theme and the teachings of the church.
“They absolutely loved it, this is the best summer holiday camp we have done,” he said.
“The children are shipwrecked on an island with Captain Thinker and Capsize Kate, who find an old letter that is from the bible.
“It is a great mixture of fun and learning about god and Jesus.
“We do this every summer, except we have different themes.
“In the past we have had an Arctic theme, a spaceship one, an Olympics theme, science fiction, polar explorers and much more.
“I am glad everyone has enjoyed it so much.”
