COMPANY for Christmas threw open Wiltshire Council doors on Christmas Day, welcoming 250 people who might have spent the day on their own to a festive party.

Local Rock and Roll band UsTwo volunteered on the day at County Hall in Trowbridge and got everyone up on their feet with a mix of Rock and Roll and Christmas music from Buddy Holly to Slade.

Now in its eight year, volunteers were on hand to serve and share a three course meal for people on their own and single parents families. From its beginnings in Trowbridge fire station, the supper has grown to see 250 people picked up from their homes and taken to a decorated County Hall for the day.

Volunteer Dean Plumley,, said: “ huge lunch kindly provided by Apetito with catering facilities loaned by Elior.

“Everyone who came along received presents donated by the community and various local businesses. Massive thanks to everyone who volunteered or donated to make this day so special.”
