OVER 50 paramedics and firefighters gathered at the South Western Ambulance Service base in Trowbridge this morning (January 3) to pay their respects to a much loved colleague.
A hearse carrying Steve Blackmore who served as an ambulance officer for 40 years passed through the base on the way to the funeral service at Semington crematorium.
Learning and development officer Geoff White held the Wiltshire ambulance flag whilst leading the hearse, followed by paramedics on bikes and a vintage ambulance. The Wiltshire ambulance flag was draped over the coffin.
Police officers temporarily stopped traffic as the hearse was led down Hilperton Road towards Semington.
