A WESTBURY man who beat his ex-girlfriend whilst on bail for another assault will be sentenced at crown court next month.
Luke Booth, 24, of Queen’s Road, admitted assaulting his former partner at her home on January 3, even though he was banned from contacting her following a previous assault in November, Salisbury magistrates heard when he appeared before them on Tuesday (January 22).
Booth, who was unrepresented, spoke up during the hearing to renegotiate his current terms of bail, saying his work as a machinist did not fit in with the curfew of 8am-8pm he was given in November, as he is now required to work other shifts, not just night shifts.
After deliberation, magistrates agreed to drop the curfew bail condition, but made it clear he still must not contact or approach his ex-partner or her family. Booth was bailed to attend Salisbury Crown Court on February 22, so he can be represented by a solicitor.
