MORE than 100 people packed a Bradford on Avon hall on Tuesday to see a film about the impact of plastic waste polluting the planet’s oceans.
The screening of A Plastic Ocean at St Margaret’s Hall was organised by Plastic-Free Bradford on Avon.
The powerful and hard-hitting documentary was followed by a Q&A session with John Pearce, of Plastic-Free BoA, Zero Waste BoA, and a Wiltshire Wildlife Trust representative.
Bradford on Avon mayor, Cllr Alex Kay, who hosted the screening, said: “If you needed any evidence of why we are trying to become a plastic-free community then you need look no further.
“Every time we refuse to accept plastic we become part of the solution and not part of the problem.”
Afterwards, Mr Pearce said he was “delighted” with the attendance and “very receptive” audience.
Bradford on Avon Town Council, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and Climate Friendly BoA supported the event.
