Research into how people spend their money each month showed that on average people living in the South West spent more each week than in nearly the whole of the rest of the country.
People in the South West are more likely to own at least one car and spend on average £572 a week on outgoings. Figures published by the Office of National Statistics found that people under the age of 30 spent a higher proportion of their weekly budget on takeaways, but across the UK people in the South West were the least likely to have a takeaway for tea.
