OVER £1000 was raised for Dorothy House in memory of former Trowbridge Rugby Club stalwart Ian Lawes.
Mr Lawes' family including his nephew, Martin Bishop, held a charity night where prizes of football memorabilia donated by Manchester Utd FC and Manchester City FC were raffled.
The family's fundraising target of £500 was doubled as over £1000 was raised. Many local business such as Nando's Trowbridge, USA Nails and Valeroso Lounge donated towards the cause.
Mr Bishop said: "We would like to say a big thank you to every one that donated to a very good cause and Wesley Road club for hosting our event.
"With all your help and support we managed to raise over £1000.
"With all our friends and family we made it a great night out ."
Mr Lawes died at the Winsley Dorothy House Hospice on December 1 last year and worked for Trowbridge rugby club for over 15 years.
