A CARE worker at the Watersmead Care Home in Westbury has been shortlisted for a top award.
The annual Wiltshire Care Partnership Awards Proud to Care Awards will be presented at Market Lavington Community Hall on Thursday, April 4.
Lana Plummer, a carer for The Order of St John Care Trust at Watersmead, is one of three shortlisted for the Care Home Front Line Worker Award. The award acknowledges the important role that carers have in promoting the emotional, physical, psychological and social health of the people who they support.
The Care Partnership awards said: “The standard of nominations was extremely high in this category and the judging panel found it extremely hard to select the top three.”
Helen Shepherd, home manager at Watersmead, said: “We are all very proud of Lana for being shortlisted.
“Lana joined the team in 2018 and immediately made an impact within the home. She excels in person-centred care and always has a smile on her face which spreads to her colleagues and residents.
“I wish her the best of luck at the awards and I am pleased to be there to support her. She thoroughly deserves to be shortlisted.”
