The teenage driver, a 17-year-old man from Warminster, was arrested within minutes for failing to stop for police, driving otherwise in accordance with his licence, and driving without insurance.

The driver was taken to Melksham custody and has since been released under investigation. His vehicle was seized by police at the scene.

A local police spokeswoman said: “Warminster police would like to remind all road users that it is their responsibility to ensure any vehicle being driven on the road is taxed, insured and has a valid MOT.
