MEMBERS of Wessex Mead Rotary Club in Trowbridge served 120 cream teas to visitors on Saturday July 27.

They staged their annual canal-side cream teas at the Semington Dry Dock to raise funds for Polio Plus.

The event from 2pm to 5pm, included a delicious cream tea and refreshments.

Event co-ordinator and past-president Andrew Mullens said: "We served 120 cream teas and 240 scones.

"We went through four kilogrammes of clotted cream donated by Coombe Castle International at Melksham."

The club's president, Ian Williamson, owner of Semington Dry Dock, produced the home-made jam for the event, with nine members serving visitors.

Mr Mullens added: "It all went very well and matched the success of last year's event. We raised about £550 for Polio Plus.

"We are very grateful to Ian and to Coombe Castle for donating the jam and the clotted cream."
