Car found on fire

FIRE crews from Melksham station attended a report of a car on fire at a petrol station on Semington Road on Tuesday at 7.20pm. When they got there the crew found a small fire in the engine compartment of the car.

Electrical fault

ONE fire crew were called to a fire involving an overhead cable leading to an electricity pole in Seend on Monday at 2pm. The fire was out on arrival

Allotments blaze

TWO fire engines from Trowbridge went to a shed fire at Southwick Allotments on Sunday afternoon. The fire caused extensive damage to the shed and sent a large plume of smoke over the area as it started to burn the hedge adjoining the Southwick Country Park, but it was soon extinguished.

Animals are stolen

FIVE ferrets, a horse collar and harness, a turkey and duck eggs that were in an incubator have been stolen from a farm in Winsley .

Driving on land

TWO men thought to be aged 18-20 drove onto a farm in Frome Road, Maiden Bradley in an old style, dark coloured LandRover Freelander, and drive around with no permission from the owner. When they were spotted and challenged on July 31 at 5pm they claimed they were searching the area for their lost Jack Russell.

Equipment stolen

A LEAF blower worth £500 and a strimmer worth £400 have been stolen from a farm in Westbury.

Office move

ELIZABETH Snell and Family, independent family funeral directors, are moving to new premises in Timbrell Street in Trowbridge. Their office in Castle Street will close today (Friday) and re-open at 51 Timbrell Street on Monday.

Concerts at hall

BAND Trio Paradis will be bringing their popular Palm Court concerts to Trowbridge Town Hall on the first Thursday of every month at 1pm, starting September 5. Entry is free with a collection.
