A CHIPPENHAM resident is concerned after his local travel agent has shut down, just two weeks after he booked a day trip with them.
Michael Plevin booked a day trip, for him and his wife Sonia, to the Tutankhamun: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh exhibit at the Saatchi Gallery with Global West Travel, Borough Parade, Chippenham.
He booked these tickets on August 19, and it was announced this morning (September 2) the travel agent had shut down.
Global West have assured holidaymakers their trips are still going ahead, as they are members of ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents).
Mr Plevin said: "They must have known they were in trouble when they took my booking, it was wrong of them to take my money.
"We now don't know who is dealing with our trip, I called ABTA and they have not yet been notified about Global West's closure.
"I just hope we can have our day trip as our planned visit in February is one of the last chances we'll have to see it in England."
Global West Travel released a statement this morning explaining they can no longer run the shop after 'holiday cancellations, the collapse of Superbreak and ongoing uncertainties regarding Brexit'.
