A WOMAN was caught drunk at the wheel with two young children in her car.
Audi Q3 driver Sarah Maher was more than three times over the limit when she was stopped in the car park of Wickes after an accident at Greenbridge Retail Park.
Tests found she had 116 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.
Maher, 39, of Briars Green, St Helens, admitted drink-driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, being found drunk in a public place while having the charge of two children under the age of seven and letting a child ride in the car without a seat belt.
Maher was sentenced to 12-month community order with a requirement to complete a six-month alcohol rehabilitation course. Her driving licence was endorsed with 10 penalty points and she was ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.
