A TEAM of runners and cyclists from Tesco Extra in Trowbridge took part in bike ride from Reading to Bath to raise money for CLIC Sargent.

Over £1000 was raised through sponsorship of riders who took on the route which totalled almost 80 miles.

In order to decide who would benefit from the challenge, staff were asked to nominate a charity who they would like to fundraise for, and then a shortlist of three was made which then was voted for over three weeks.

CLIC Sargent was nominated by Mark Bailey who said: “They are an incredible charity who put children and young people at the heart of everything they do to help them thrive and not just survive their cancer diagnosis. They support families from the minute the doctor says cancer, providing financial and emotional support along the way, and a place to stay when things get tough. I can imagine there would be so many families who would would feel lost and alone.”
