WESTBURY Town Council is being urged to write to Wiltshire and Swindon Police and Crime Commissioner Angus Macpherson to ask about a community 'touchdown point' for officers when the local police station closes.
The council's policy and resources committee, which meets on Monday December 2, is being asked to approve a recommendation for the clerk to write to him.
Councillors say Mr Macpherson should be reminded that the council has offered the force the use of its reading room.
The council said: "The police station was not open to the public even before the closure announcement."
