MARLBOROUGH College is investigating claims that some of its pupils are playing 'chicken' and doing press ups in the road for social media kicks.
Members of the public have contacted the college claiming to have seen pupils videoing each other on their phones.
The incidents have been reported on social media.
Georgie Steele posted on Facebook saying: "Apparently it’s a new trend for kids to stand or do press ups in the road while a car is coming at them and film it. I am guessing for social media?
"I almost killed a boy today (from the Marlborough college) because he thought it would be cool. Didn’t seem to cool after I told him he almost died."
The college has confirmed it is 'fact finding' the claims, but will not comment on them until it has 'established the facts.'
A spokesperson said pupils at the £12,000 a term public school will be reminded of appropriate behaviour in assemblies, and that they are given regular talks on the risks and benefits of social media.
