VAN raiders struck in Devizes on Saturday night breaking into a number of vehicles and stealing tools.
Police are appealing for anyone with CCTV or motion activated dash cam's to check the equipment to see if anything suspicious appears.
The thieves mainly targeted MK.7 Ford Transits and many of the tools taken from Makita.
A police spokesman said: "Enquiries are ongoing and patrols will be conducted, but any CCTV would be very beneficial to our efforts to identify the offender.
"Unfortunately, there will always be people who will try to take advantage of hard working tradespeople and stretched emergency services, but we are making every possible effort to track them down.
"We're appealing for anyone living in the Avenues and Brickham Road areas to check their CCTV or motion activated Dash Cam's for anything suspicious overnight into March 22."
Owners of Ford Transits made between 2006 and 2013 are particularly urged to take precautions including removing all expensive branded tools, parking with both back and side doors tightly against walls or fences and not relying on factory fitted security systems.
A police spokesman said: "It is likely that a key decoder was used in most of these offences to unlock the vehicles."
