The following planning applications have been decided upon by Wiltshire Council recently.

BRADFORD ON AVON: An application submitted by Mrs Burke of Manor Gardens for a first floor side extension has been approved.

WESTBURY: Mrs Swan of Station Road has had her application for the construction of a three bedroom bungalow with parking, electric car charging station and replacement garage declined.

The decision stated that the development would “by reason of the narrow site access, the layout” not be in keeping with the pattern of development and the increase in vehicle movement would have an “unacceptable adverse impact on the character and appearance of the area”.

CRICKLADE: An application for a sitting caravan to be used as a day room for washing and drying clothes, showering, as well as making tea, coffee and lunches has been refused.

The plans put forward by Mr Bright have been declined on the basis, according to the decision, that the mass and scale of the caravan “which is considered unnecessary development in the context of other structures already available at this site, in this rural setting” is considered to cause harm to the surroundings.

CHIPPENHAM: Plans submitted by Mr Fewtrell of Saxby Road for the change of use to non-residential garden room annex, construction of a boundary fence, bricking in of existing doorway and insertion of window to south west elevation, and installation of French doors with glass side panels on south east elevation have been approved with conditions.

The conditions state that the garden room must not be occupied or used for any other purposes than as ancillary to the residential use to the main dwelling.
