The following plans have been decided by Wiltshire Council this week.

DEVIZES: Plans submitted to change the use of a holiday let at The Brick Store, Dunkirk Hill to a home have been refused.

Wiltshire Council said the plans would conflict with Wiltshire Core Strategy and the residential policies of the Devizes Area Neighbourhood Plan.

The decision notice said: “The site is not within an isolated location and there are no special circumstances to justify the unrestricted residential use of the application building.”

CHIPPENHAM: Owners of a property in Hardenhuish Lane submitted plans for the demolition of an existing bungalow and garage and the construction of a new home with a garage and raised patios and paths.

The plans were refused.

Wiltshire Council planners said: “The proposed development by reason of its scale, height, mass and siting would result in a contrived form of development which fails to integrate into the existing built form and rhythm of development resulting in less than substantial harm to the character and setting of the adjacent designated heritage assets.”

WOOTTON RIVERS: Brewis Limited, Worcester submitted alterations to already approved plans for the construction of a five bedroom, two-storey home at Church Farm, Cuckoos Knob. These plans have been approved.

CHAPMANSLADE: Plans to replace an existing static caravan for use as annexe accommodation for an elderly relative at Blackdog Farm have been approved with conditions.

The conditions said that the caravan must be used as ancillary accommodation to Black Dog Farmhouse and not for commercial or public use.

MARLBOROUGH: Plans to remove one branch of a cherry tree and cut down a Christmas tree at Clarence Villa, Ludgershall Road have been met with no objections.

HILPERTON: Plans for a single-room, ground floor extension with a west-facing set of folding doors at Willow Brook Barn, Whaddon Lane have been given the go-ahead.

SHERSTON: An extension and alterations to the main house at Carriers Farm, Luckington Road have been approved.

WHADDON: Meridian Property Development Ltd submitted plans for the development of a pair of semi-detached, three bedroom dwellings, parking and associated works on land adjacent to Wyndrina in Grimstead Road. The plans have been approved.

GRITTLETON: Single-storey front and rear extensions and a detached timber-framed garage at Golden Acres, Park Farm, Thickwood Lane have been given the green light.

The plans were approved on the condition that the development “shall not be occupied at any time other than for purposes ancillary to the residential use of the main dwelling”.

ASHTON KEYNES: Plans to build a house at the land at Kent End, have been refused.

In its decision Wiltshire Council said the proposed development would fail to enhance or preserve the character of the area.

CORSHAM: Plans for an extension of the front facade and alternations to improve the sustainability of the property at 57 Broadmead have been approved. The plans, also included the replacement of a flat roof garage.

MALMESBURY: Planning permission has been granted for a ground floor, front extension to allow for a new entrance hall, WC and utility room at Stoneleigh.

The application also included plans for a ground floor rear extension to allow for a new dining and kitchen area, a detached carport and log store, as well as internal works and landscape to allow for a new driveway.

WESTBURY: The owners of a property in Meadow Lane, have had their plans approved for the development of a single-storey extension.

STARTLEY: Plans for the formation of a new entrance at Grove Farm have been approved.

BOX: Planning permission has been granted for the change of use of The Lodge, Box Hill from light industrial workshop to residential.

The planning permission also included the conversion of an existing building to become a single home and extending the existing pitched roof over the rear section of the building to replace the existing lean-to roof.
