EASTERTON sculptor Judy Boyt has won the Little Buckland Sculpture prize at The Broadway Arts Festival.
Judy was attending a week's course on the human figure at The Ruskin College in Oxford when she sculpted her bronze study of 'Andrew at the Ruskin' .
Judy is more renowned for her equine and animal sculptures that grace buildings in the UK and in private clients homes.
She was the sculptor of the iconic Mitsubishi Trophy for Badminton Horse Trials and has a monumental twice life size bronze horse in The City of London.
"So to stretch my brain and skills I have been studying the human form," said Judy. "In this case, this was a quick study in wax just for my own information. 'He' sat up on a shelf in my studio for a year before I eventually had it cast in bronze.
"To get an award for a torso is amazing for a horse sculptor!"
The online exhibition is now live on the festival website https://broadwayartsfestival.com/art-competition/
