A large bin has been installed on George Street in Warminster street to help curb fly-tipping.
According to the council, several properties in the area have no space to store their rubbish, so their waste has been collected from the location on George Street.
Seeing the waste bags has led to an increase in people fly-tipping and to prevent this Wiltshire Council has installed the new ‘commercial-sized’ bin, and anti-fly-tipping message.
The council also said there will be greater enforcement on offence in the area.
Cllr Bridget Wayman, cabinet member for waste, said: “We hope this will solve the problem, but if not, we will use CCTV evidence to prosecute any fly-tippers, as we have at other hotspots around the county.”
Anyone caught in the act should expect a Fixed Penalty Notice of £400.
